Antón Lederer - Margaret Makovec
En 1994 empezaron a exhibir arte en su propia casa. Cinco años más tarde fundaron la asociación de arte contemporáneo <rotor> ( www.rotor.mur.at ) en Graz. Su programa se centra en producción de arte contemporáneo de relevancia social y política, y han desarrollado un énfasis en las colaboraciones con las escenas artísticas de la Europa Central y Sud-Oriental.
En 1998 llevaron a cabo su primer proyecto mayor en el espacio público, "Public Appreances", al alquilar 10 tiendas vacías en una misma calle, y ofrecérselos a 10 artistas internacionales. Siguieron en el 2001 con un evento de tres días de perfomance en las calles y plazas del centro de Graz, "Never Stop the Action". Más tarde, en 2003, durante la Capitalidad Cultural Europea de Graz, los comisarios desarrollaron un proyecto a gran escala en el Quinto Distrito de la ciudad bajo el título de "real*utopia - Art in Graz District Gries" ( www.realutopia.at ). Al mismo tiempo, diseñaron el proyecto "Balkan Konsulat", junto con la comisaria de Sarajevo Lejla Hodzic, y ofrecieron su espacio expositivo a seis comisarios de Belgrado, San Petersburgo, Praga, Estanbul, Budapest y Sarajevo. En 2004 fueron invitados a un festival Roma que tuvo lugar en Graz para comisariar la exposición "We Aer What We Are. Aspects of Roma Life in contemporary Art", que luego itineró por Ljubljana, Trnava, Usti nad Labem, Bucarest y Budapest. Desde 2002 han estado involucrados en la organización de la bienal MSE-meetings (Middle-South-East); el encuentro de 2006 tuvo lugar en Prishtina, en colaboración con Erzen Skholloli, el el de 2008 se hizo en Usti Nab Labem en colaboración con Michal Kolecek. Desde 2007 han estado desarrollando el proyecto a largo plazo "Land of Human Rights. Artisstic Analyses and Visions of the HHuman Rights Situation in Europe" ( www.landofhumanrights.eu ). Este proyecto ha sido establecido a nivel europeo en colaboración con otras entidades en Usti nad Labem, Dresde, Budapest, Ljubljana y Zagreb. Han participado en distintas experiencias educativas, han impartido conferencias por toda Europa y han publicado una serie de libros relacionados con las actividades de <rotor>.

Begannen 1994 Kunst in ihrem eigenen Zuhause für die Öffentlichkeit auszustellen. Fünf Jahre später gründeten sie in Graz den Verein für zeitgenössische Kunst <rotor>. Ihr Programm konzentriert sich auf sozio-kulturell und politisch bedeutende Kunstproduktionen, wobei sie ihren Fokus immer mehr auf Kooperationen mit der Kunstszene in Central und Südosteuropa gelegt haben. 1998 lief das erste große öffentliche Projekt "Public Appearances": 10 Ladenlokale, in unmittelbarer Nähe einer Straße gelegen, wurden angemietet und 10 internationalen Künstlern zur Verfügung gestellt. 2001 folgte dann "Never Stop the Action": eine dreitägige Performance auf den Straßen und Plätzen der Grazer Innenstadt. Während dann 2003 Graz Europäische Kulturhauptstadt war, entwickelten die Kuratoren ein großes Projekt im 5. Bezirk der Stadt unter dem Titel ""real*utopia - art in Graz district Gries" ( www.realutopia.at ). Zur selben Zeit konzipierten sie zusammen mit dem in Sarajevo lebenden Kurator Lejla Hodzic das Projekt "Balkan Konsulat", bei dem sie ihre Räumlichkeiten 6 Kuratoren aus Belgrad, St. Petersburg, Prag, Istanbul, Budapest und Sarajevo zur Verfügung stellten. 2004 wurden sie zu einem in Graz stattfindenden Roma-Festival eingeladen, um dort eine Ausstellung unter dem Titel "We are what we are. Aspects of Roma Life in Contemporary Art" zu kuratieren. Die Ausstellung fand danach noch in Ljubljana, Trnava, Usti nad Labem, Bukarest und Budapest statt. Seit 2002 arbeiten sie an der Organisation der bienalen MSE-Meetings (Middle-South-East) mit; 2006 fand dieses Treffen in Pristina in Zusammenarbeit mit Erzen Shkolloli statt; 2008 in Usti nad Labem in Zusammenarbeit mit Michal Kolecek. Seit 2007 arbeiten sie am Langzeitprojekt "Land of Human Rights. Artistic Analyses and Visions of the Human Rights Situation in Europe" ( www.landofhumanright.eu ). Das Projekt wurde auf EU Ebene in Kooperation mit Partnern aus Usti nad Labem, Dresden, Budapest, Ljubjana und Zagreb initiiert. Beide haben unterschiedlichste Lehrerfahrungen sammeln können und hielten Vorträge in ganz Europa. Außerdem veröffentlichten sie eine Reihe von Büchern über die Arbeit von <rotor>.

Their programme concentrates on socially and politically relevant art production and they have developed a focus on cooperations with the art scenes of Central and South Eastern Europe.
In 1998 they carried out their first large project in the public space "Public Appearances" when they rented 10 empty shops in the neighbourhood of one street an gave it to 10 international artists. 2001 followed a three days performance event in the streets and squares of the inner city of Graz "Never Stop the Action. Then, in 2003, when Graz has been the Cultural Capital of Europe the curators developed a large scale project in the 5 th district of the city under the title "real*utopia - art in Graz district Gries" ( www.realutopia.at ). In the same time they designed the project "Balkan Konsulat" together with the Sarajevo based curator Lejla Hodzic and gave their gallery space to 6 curators from Belgrade, St.Petersburg, Prague, Istanbul, Budapest and Sarajevo. In 2004 they have been invited by a Roma festival which took place in Graz to curate an exhibition "We are what we are. Apsects of Roma Life in Contemporary Art" that later travelled to Ljubljana, Trnava, Usti nad Labem, Bucharest and Budapest. From 2002 on they have been involved in the organisation of the biennial MSE-meetings (Middle-South-East); the 2006 meeting happened in Prishtina in collboration with Erzen Shkolloli and the 2008 meeting in Usti nad Labem in collaboration with Michal Kolecek. From 2007 on they carried out the long-term project "Land of Human Rights. Artistic Analyses and Visions of the Human Rights Situation in Europe" ( www.landofhumanright.eu ). This project was established on EU level in collaboration with partner organsiations in Usti nad Labem, Dresden, Budapest, Ljubjana and Zagreb.
